1 / 3Alpine Aqualand
📍 Frankton, Otago
Alpine Aqualand in Queenstown features heated indoor pools including a lazy river, toddler splash pool, training pool, water slides, and a 45° heated adults pool with mountain views. Change rooms, family facilities, and a swimwear shop on site.
10/10, 5 stars, 2 enthusiastic thumbs up. I dont think I could rate this place any higher. If you have kids, and have some downtime in Queenstown then this is a must. With heated pools, dedicated toddler area, lazy river, general pool area, water slides, and a 45⁰ heated adult pool with outstanding views of the mountains, this place was fantastic. Excellent and well thought out layout, freindly staff, clean and well maintained, family change rooms, large general change rooms, togs "dryer" (great addition), and it seems to be disabled accessable as well with ramps into the pool and a mechanical chair lift into the adults pool. Note that the waterslides only work for a few hours a day so check the website for times. Well worth the visit even if you dont have kids, you will enjoy the hot adults pool.

“Great pool. Very family friendly. The water is nice and warm. There are two slides - one for children and one for bigger kids (1.4m height minimum). A lovely morning at the pool when the weather is pretty poor outside. Thanks”

“We brought our 6yo and was told at the door that she can ride the slides on her own, once paid, she was rejected from riding the slides on their own due to a 1.4m height restriction. Then she tried to join the hot pool, only to be rejected because of an age restriction. The signage is so poor that she felt distraught and we had a crying 6yo to commiserate instead of enjoying our swim. Unfair. They should put up clear signage for the kids their restrictions limit, and not charge us for something we couldn't do. Otherwise, facilities were great. Warm pool, hot showers, lazy river, toddler splash pool, foam floatation toys, great family changing rooms.”

“You have to try the hot pools in winter. It’s awesome. There’s a training pool, lap pool, lazy river and infant pool, also water slides that look fun although I haven’t tried them. The temperature within is pretty warm during winter which is nice. Only thing is the lap pool temperature is a tad cold for me so I can only do my laps in the training pool. Changing rooms and showers are big. There are paid lockers and free cubicles for you to store your bags. $8 entry for adults (non-members). There’s a cafe and shop selling swimwear outside too.”
