“Awesome spot! Fenced in toddler playground, splash pad, ducks, Sunday train, gym equipment, gardens, large grass areas, pump track and more. So many options for all ages. Have always found the Porirua City Council maintenance staff to be really friendly too, along with the Lions Club running the train.”

“It has many fun things for kids. eg a good playgroud, water fun, sand, walks for adult, train rides in the weekend. Enough parking around the place. Clean and new toilets.”

Overview
Aotea Lagoon Playground is one of the Wellington region's largest free play destinations. The fully fenced toddler section has three slides and interactive elements - a genuine zone, not a token enclosure. Older children gravitate to the musical pirate ship with helm, the massive climbing net, swings, splash pad, and a combined skate and scooter circuit. The adjoining lagoon is a known stingray spot. Community BBQs and picnic tables are on site. A small train ride operates at certain times.
