Dragonfly Spring Wetlands Sanctuary in Onerahi is the result of decades of community restoration led by founders Jeremy and Pam. The site was cleared of exotic species and replanted with home-propagated native species to restore wetland ecology. The sanctuary supports native insect life, birds, and harbour health. Educational trails run through the plantings and the site hosts school groups and family nature walks. Bug hunting activities have been run with specialist guides.
