HIPPO Playground & Cafe
π Huntington Park, Auckland
Indoor playground featuring imported play equipment, multiple themed party rooms, and an all-day cafe. Best suited for toddlers and preschoolers with parent-friendly flat design for easy supervision.
The kids absolutely loved this place. This was a much needed chillout day for the family when visiting NZ (4yr and 2yr). Few other attractions across Auckland provided the kids with the safe freedom to explore and have fun like children during our trip. They truly let loose and went for play. The vibe was relaxed and the bonus of having coffee on-site is the perfect match for a child-friendly morning.
π Family Action Verdict
Best suited for families with toddlers and preschoolers who prioritize cleanliness and don't mind paying premium prices. The facility offers a safe indoor environment with cafΓ© amenities, but parents should be aware of high costs and potential safety concerns near the exit. Avoid during school holidays if you prefer less crowded conditions.

βWhile the Hippo Playground is one of the most expensive indoor playgrounds around, I found that everything inside was immaculate. It was very clean and nothing was broken. Itβs definitely a good option for children if you need shelter from the elements. They offer free lockers and thereβs plenty of shoe storage. Itβs expensive, so Iβll probably try other options before returning.β

βI would like to raise a safety concern! Overall, my kids and I really enjoy Hippo Playground, and I can see that this place has many positives β the play zones are great, the staff are kind and respectful, and the cafΓ© food looks and tastes very good. However, if a venue is designed for small children, the exit ideally should not lead directly to a parking area without a safety barrier. I can see that some improvements have been made since our last visit, and that a safety button has been installed on the exit door. However, this still does not eliminate potentially dangerous situations. When people are entering or leaving, the door can easily be opened and a small child could quickly run outside toward the parking area without anyone noticing or reacting. This extremely dangerous situation could potentially happen to any family visiting with young children. I kindly ask that you please give attention to this issue and consider additional safety measures. Kind regards, Oleksandraβ

βWell it was average and not value for the money. $29.5 per kid is expensive. We have visited during school holiday and it was crowded. The big claw machine cost another $30 and toys are old and dirty. No one used it while we were there. Just an average indoor play ground.β
