A beautiful park with stunning walks available. So much stunning foliage makes it nice and sheltered. It has a huge football field which is a great place to walk your dog, and there are often other dogs around so you meet a lot of friendly dog owners! One of my favourite things is the walks. There are many walks through the trees around the park (1st pic), and many adorable little clearings (2nd pic) and other things to find. It's very peaceful. Even though you aren't going that far, you feel like you're deep in nature. Luckily, it's hard to get lost, you just keep walking and eventually pop out in the green belt (3rd pic) around 150 m from the park entrance. This is a great and versatile large park, perfect for dog walking or just walking in general! A real little pocket of nature paradise in the city.

🏆 Family Action Verdict

Reviewers describe it as a genuine pocket of nature in the city — the walking trails feel immersive and the shift from open field to sheltered bush is immediate. Families with dogs and older children who enjoy bush walks find it reliably peaceful. The natural loop design makes navigation straightforward.

“Pretty nice winding forest walk, steep in some parts. Seemed to be a bit of a wasp problem higher up currently, but there were warning signs up.”

Overview

The park combines a large open grass field with a network of wooded walking tracks that wind through sheltered native trees and open onto small clearings along the way. The trails loop back naturally so there is no risk of getting lost, and they eventually connect to the greenbelt surrounding the park. The open field is well-used by dog owners and ball games, and the walking tracks are quiet and peaceful even during busy periods. Pram access is available on the main paths.
