Lots of history and information. Could have spent far longer at the aviation hall. The Motat museum was OK with the simulated flight with VR Google being really good. That would be even better if longer and maybe buzzed around Auckland some more. But that's not really the point πŸ€”πŸ˜. All well worth a visit and includes the free tram ride between the two. Easy bus ride from city on the number 18.

πŸ† Family Action Verdict

A rainy-day winner with real depth β€” kids want to touch and try everything, and adults find the aviation history and locomotive exhibits equally engaging. The free tram ride between sites adds to the day.

β€œI am so glad that such places exist for it kids to witness/absorb and learn from. My daughter particularly enjoyed calls on traditional phones. As an adult I enjoyed the locomotives as well the printing press. I am glad you can take some nice prints as souvenirs. Pram/Stroller storage is a great idea by MOTAT.”

β€œThe whole family really enjoyed the museum. Interesting for both kids and adults. Even better pick on a rainy day. They've got visual effects (multiple projectors) with sound to tell about history and Interesting facts. Also a helicopter (non working of course) cabin which you can see and try all its controlls.”
