1 / 3Olympic Park
đ New Lynn, Auckland
Expansive free park in New Lynn featuring multiple play zones including a shaded sandpit, zipline, natural stream walkways, sculptures, and sheltered pavilions with ample seating and public toilets.
What a lovely park for kids. It has so many different sections, a big sandpit, sheltered pavilion, zipline, lots of benches and public toilets next to it. Zipline does get quite muddy though. Nice walkway takes you to a little stream
đ Family Action Verdict
A genuinely varied free day out â the sandpit, zipline, stream walk, and sculptures cover enough ground to hold different age groups simultaneously. Free parking accessible from three entry points keeps logistics simple. Toddler-friendly on the flat areas near the sandpit; older kids gravitate to the zipline and stream. Bring a picnic and a change of clothes for anyone who tackles the zipline on a wet day.

âThis is a nice park with a great kids playground and plenty of quiet little paths. A spacious park, trees and stream, walkways, toilet, and next to soccer field connected by a beautiful bridge, easy off-street parking for visitors, all for free. Really recommend!â

âOne of the best parks in the area. Parking is free within the park. The park is accessible from 3 sides. Sculptures in the part are great to look at. The walk way is great around the part. Kids playing area is a good size and different activities to cover all age range. The Olympic ground itself is huge and one an run on the tracks if nothing is going on the ground. A great place to spend an afternoon there.â
