1 / 3Point England Reserve
đ Point England, Auckland
Point England Reserve runs along the Tamaki Estuary with a playground geared to ages 3 and up, a small sandy beach, large sports fields, and an extensive paved walk-and-cycle path connecting to the war memorial reserve.
A nice, quiet park that runs between the estuary on one side, and a bit of farmland on the other. A small area for sports, and a quiet little beach with a picnic area. Pretty popular with cyclists, joggers and dog walkers. It connects to the walk going up through the war memorial reserve. A nice, easy paved path that's not too challenging.
đ Family Action Verdict
The paved paths make this one of the more bike-friendly reserves in east Auckland, and the bay views hold the attention of even reluctant walkers. The playground is compact but well-suited to ages 3 and up, and the beach â when the tide cooperates â rounds out the visit neatly. Families with a mix of ages can split between beach, playground, and sports fields without anyone feeling short-changed.

âWell connected and expansive park that hosts a variety of areas for all types of activities. Play park for tamariki. Beach for balmy days. Picnic spots for holidays. Extensive walk/cycle lane. Restrooms. Huge fields for cricket / football or hockey. This reserve is a major anchor and outdoor space that wants to be enjoyed.â

âExcellent for the whole family, as it has plenty of things to do for a wide age range. The play area is but small, but with mostly geared towards 3+. There are plenty of bike tracks and a small beach for the kids to enjoy. Make sure to check the tide times, otherwise you'd end up in a mud pool!â

Overview
Point England Reserve on the Tamaki Estuary combines a playground, a small beach with picnic spots, large grass fields for cricket, football, and hockey, and a paved path network running along both sides of the peninsula. The paths connect to the war memorial reserve for extended walks or rides. Change rooms, free parking, and pram access are on site. The beach is best at mid-to-high tide â at low tide the flats become muddy. Families arrive on foot, by bike, and with dogs, and the reserve has a relaxed, well-used neighbourhood energy.
