âGreat little park, shame that it is out of commission for sports while the reservoir is being built. Change rooms are as old as the hills, but fingers crossed they get done up when the park is open again for sports.â

âNow partly sealed off to build ca reservoir (until 2023). Great town belt tracks. Awesome sunrises from the hill behind the karate dojoâ

Overview
Prince of Wales Park occupies a hillside in Wellington's town belt near Mount Cook. Walking tracks wind through quiet bush with enough elevation change to make the outing feel like a proper excursion. The highlight is the viewing platform above the water tank â a newer addition that delivers panoramic harbour views. A hilltop behind the karate dojo is noted for spectacular sunrises. The park connects to broader town belt tracks for those wanting a longer walk.
