A big, beautifully kept botanical park with a free little animal farm, aviary, playground and gardens. Best for kids who love animals and a slow wander on a sunny day.

Great experience to visit this place. Invercargill it’s self beautiful and peaceful city, doesn’t have much to do this place makes visitor must go place. Beautifully managed overall and hand crafted garden with love and care in Invercargill style. Awesome Japanese garden is an extra touch. Kids can enjoy watching Ostrich and lama and other semi domestic animals. Wheel chair friendly and does have bathroom facilities.

This is a lovely spot for a relaxed family day out, especially if your kids love animals - there's a free little farm with pigs, deer and rabbits, plus birds and tuatara to spot. Plan on a few hours to wander the gardens, let the kids run at the playground, and grab a coffee. Best enjoyed on a sunny day.

β€œWow. We booked a free tour of the aviary and animal sanctuary online and we had the best time. Our tour guides were both fabulous and we had great fun watching the animals and learning all about them. What a gem of a thing to do in Invercargill. Would visit again and again.”

Overview

A properly big botanical park where you can spend a good few hours without trying. The free little farm has pigs, deer and rabbits, there are birds and tuatara to spot, and you can book a free aviary and animal sanctuary tour online - families rave about the guides. Let the kids loose at the playground, wander the gardens, and grab a coffee. Prams roll easily and there's parking, but save it for a sunny day.
