đ Springvale, Manawatu-Wanganui
A solid afternoon swim spot with a range of pools, hydro slides and even a sauna and steam room. Attentive lifeguards, but the opening makes early morning lap swims tricky.
Spent 3 hrs there with our great grandson and his friends It would be nice to have more family friendly seating available round-the hydro slides area
đ Family Action Verdict
This is a solid spot for a family afternoon, with enough different pools and slides to keep kids busy for a couple of hours and lifeguards who are actually paying attention.

âWe enjoyed spending a couple of hours at the splash centre today. They have a number of pools to choose from including a sauna and a steam room. It Is well set out, the lifeguards are ever present and helpful and overall it is well worth going.â

âPools are ok for lane swimming however dont open untill 6am?! Pretty hard to get in for a morning swim and then to the day job, 5.30am/5.00am opening would make so much more sense like any other pools in any other place. Also often pretty hard to find a space because everyone else has to get in there at 6 to get anywhere during the day instead of being able to be staggered from 5 to 6.30 like normal. Often swim squads at 6 as well so you cant get in before they do and do your swim.â

Overview
Enough different pools and hydro slides here to keep kids busy for a couple of hours, plus a sauna and steam room if you fancy a warm-up. It's well laid out and the lifeguards are genuinely present and watching, so you can relax a little. Seating round the slides can be scarce, and if you're after an early lap swim before work the opening is on the late side.
