Totara Park on Wairere Road in The Gardens (Manukau) is a large regional park combining forest trails, two playgrounds, a public pool (summer only), a small tennis court, a historic building, a horse trail, and an off-lead dog area. Free entry; pram-accessible across most of the site.
Our most fav place to take our dog, awesome off lead area, swimming area for our dogs too by the trail. Plenty of dogs go every weekend so heaps of play time with other dogs. Even our dog loves it, Every time we drive past our dog gets super excited and just wants to go there. Lovely trail walk, that links up to the botanical gardens as well. 100/100 stars.! Best as a longer family outing β there's enough variety to fill a half-day or more across the playgrounds, forest trails, and (in summer) the pool. Reviewers consistently mention the breadth of activities under one site.

βOur most fav place to take our dog, awesome off lead area, swimming area for our dogs too by the trail. Plenty of dogs go every weekend so heaps of play time with other dogs. βThere is so much to experience here - a public pool (only open during summer), small tennis court, forest trails, 2x playgrounds, a historic building, horse trail, plenty of flat grass areas, shaded tree spaces for picnics and plenty of picnic tables to choose from. I was thoroughly surprised by such a hidden gem. Been here once and still have much more to see. I WILL BE BACK!! π₯°β€β€β
