βThis is, well, slightly better than their (un)successer Newmarket Tenpin Bowling. It is cleaner and tidier, but there are two things I still want to point out. (Just to improtanly note out, I'm referring to the new location they are currently operating as of right now. The older location has shut down and turned into a Target store.) First thing when I come here, there are paving stones that just have been plonked right at the entrance (see photos for reference). Definitely not a problem for me, but if you have a vision impairment, then there's no way to tell whether or not there is something obstructing your path without tripping over, and it doesn't help the entrance is near a elevated section which leads to other nearby shops. As soon as the venue opens for the day, an asian guy in his mid year appearance yells at me in a rather grumpy tone: "You're too early!!! Come back at ten minutes' time!" Lovely start. It has the usual stuff, gambling fruit machines, pool, couple of arcade machines, and the main attraction: bowling. The layout seems fine and it looks pretty tidy, just the guy who yelled at me in the first place and the randomly placed paving stones was what partially ruined my experience and gave me a bit of concern. The guy was a bit grumpy while I was visiting which was a bit unfortunate. It is usually quiet here and doesn't seem to attract many, although I cannot comment further on this as I do not live here in the North Shore, but on the other side of the harbor bridge. I'm not too sure about what else to talk about based on this place, I could talk more about their notorious main location (Newmarket Tenpin Bowling), but to sum it up, my experience is a three star rating and rating of average.β

βHad the unfortunate experience of coming here. Dirty, ripped, stained, wonky and bumpy pool tables. Light fittings are all broken. Ceiling panels are falling out. None of the exit signs are working which must be a health and safety issue. Seats are all ripped. Graffiti everywhere. Toilets are disgusting. Tacky and damaged paper cup decorations. Went and asked for a refund straight after getting to a our pool table and they said no. Wouldn't even change us to a better table. How is this place still open?β

Overview
Wairau Park Tenpin Bowling runs 12 maple lanes with bumpers and kid-friendly ramps, 20 professional-cloth pool tables, arcade machines including air hockey and racing games, and a fully licensed bar with food. The venue is large and suits mixed-age family groups. Service quality is inconsistent across reviews β some visitors report friendly, attentive staff as others describe rude interactions and poor hygiene across lanes, seating and toilets. Inspect your lane before starting a game.
