Knights Stream Park is the flagship (4.5 stars from hundreds of reviews): a miniature street network with real road signs and intersections where kids genuinely learn to ride, plus a big concrete skate bowl, playground and basketball. Directly across the road, Neil Graham Park continues the theme with paved learner bike tracks, a basket swing and a huge twisted cargo climbing net, all close to the shops.

Halswell Domain is the Sunday pick: the local model engineering society runs miniature train rides beside the skatepark and pump track loop every Sunday afternoon, weather permitting. Westlake Reserve offers a flat, stroller-friendly lake loop where royal spoonbills turn up among the waterfowl, with a playground pitched at younger kids.
