π Raetihi, Manawatu-Wanganui
A small, lovingly run dinosaur museum in Raetihi where the owners chat with you and the life-sized animated figures win over kids of all ages. A solid wet-day pick if you're passing through.
βββββ A fantastic place for dinosaur enthusiasts of all ages! I was genuinely impressed by the extensive collection of dinosaur information, with detailed explanations that make the exhibits both educational and engaging. The replica bone and skeleton displays are incredibly well done and help bring these prehistoric giants to life. The real highlight for me was the life-sized animated dinosaur figures. Seeing them move and hearing the sounds they make creates a surprisingly immersive experience and gives visitors a real sense of what these creatures might have been like millions of years ago. Whether youβre visiting with family, friends, or simply have an interest in natural history, this museum is well worth a visit. A fun, informative, and memorable experience that combines learning with excitement. Highly recommended!

βWe stumbled across this little gem while out for a walk and are so glad we did! The owners, who moved down from Auckland to share their incredible dinosaur collection, were super friendly and welcoming. The place is spotless, well laid out, and packed with fascinating exhibits and information about all kinds of dinosaurs π¦π¦. There was so much to see and learn, and it kept all of us engaged. It ended up being the talking point of our family for the rest of our time in Ratahi. Highly recommend a visit!β
