1 / 3Enterprise Cars Swim Centre
π Riverdale, Gisborne
Best for swimming lessons rather than a casual splash. The Enterprise swim centre at Nelson Park is a club-run indoor 25 metre pool with warm water, heated showers and a swim school, open to the public for lane swimming in limited weekday hours.
My kids learned to swim here but due to the fact many parents are now joing the congregated voice of the too PC I'm not sure they will continue classes for much longer. Changing room etiquette for children under 8 is a bit wak for me. If you feel threatened by children being naked you should take a long hard look at yourself.
π Family Action Verdict
Choose it for lessons: parents credit the instructors with getting their kids swimming, and the warm water and heated showers make winter lessons painless. For a casual family swim with slides and a toddler pool, Kiwa Pools is the better bet, since this is one lane pool with public access confined to weekday hours.

βGreat alternative to the Olympic pool complex as it has heated showers (Olympics you have to pay for heated!) Only a 25m pool though and limited hours for the public, hence 4 stars. Very clean facility, friendly staff.β

Overview
The Enterprise swim centre on Nelson Road in Riverdale is run by the Enterprise Swim Club and home to its learn-to-swim school and competitive squads. It is a single indoor 25 metre pool kept warm, with a salt and chlorine mix swimmers find soft on the skin, clean changing rooms and heated showers. Public lane swimming is available in limited weekday hours, and there are no slides, toddler pool or play features. Families use it for lessons and quiet lengths; Kiwa Pools is the place for a play.
