Live Wire

“We parked in the main Sylvia Park car park and visited Live Wire for a family afternoon out. The location is very convenient because it is inside Sylvia Park, so it is easy to combine the visit with lunch, dinner, shopping or other activities in the mall. We had a fantastic time and were impressed by how many different activities were available in one place. Live Wire is much more than a normal arcade. It has ten-pin bowling, mini golf, virtual reality games, racing simulators and a large selection of arcade games, so there is something for children, teenagers and adults. The arcade area was a big hit with the children. There was a good mix of games, including racing, basketball, skill games and ticket-winning machines. The children really enjoyed collecting points and then choosing their prizes at the end. The system was easy to understand, and there were enough different games to keep everyone entertained for a long time. The racing simulators were one of the highlights for us. They felt much more immersive than a standard arcade racing game and were enjoyable for both children and adults. It was something different from what we normally find at family entertainment centres in Auckland. The bowling area also looked modern and well maintained, with a lively atmosphere that would be suitable for families, groups of friends or birthday parties. The mini golf added another option for anyone wanting something slightly more relaxed and interactive. Having so many activities under one roof means that everyone can choose something they enjoy rather than being limited to only one type of entertainment. The venue was busy and energetic, but it still felt clean and organised. The equipment appeared to be well maintained, and the overall space felt modern rather than tired or dated. The staff we spoke to were friendly, patient and helpful, especially when explaining how the game cards, points and activities worked. Live Wire is also a very good option when the Auckland weather is wet or cold. Parents can bring their children somewhere indoors where they can be active, play together and stay entertained for several hours. It would also work very well for birthday celebrations, school-holiday outings, family gatherings or casual group events. One of the best things about Live Wire is that it appeals to a wide age range. Younger children can enjoy the simpler arcade games, while older children and adults can try the simulators, bowling, virtual reality or mini golf. It is rare to find a place where everyone in the family can participate without some people becoming bored. We spent a very enjoyable afternoon there and the children were still talking about their favourite games afterwards. The combination of activities, the convenient location and the lively atmosphere make it one of the better family-entertainment options at Sylvia Park. We will definitely return, particularly during the school holidays or on a rainy weekend. Highly recommended for families and groups looking for a fun indoor activity in Auckland.”
