Memorial Pool Tauranga is a 25m outdoor seasonal pool set in Memorial Park. Open October to April, it draws lap swimmers who appreciate the relaxed lane atmosphere and fellow swimmers who share courteously.
Love swimming in this outdoor pool as it's often not too busy so possible to swim properly. The other swimmers always polite and considerate when sharing a lane. Changing rooms old and dated though- think school swimming pool standard. Staff friendly but they don't interact that much with swimmers & they could be more consistent with enforcing the pool rules. Overall, a great place to swim. Shame it's not open for a longer period over summer, or later into the evening.

âGreat swimming pool for summer. I've been told it's 25m. Usually not too busy and most people are pretty good at sharing or splitting a lane. There are no slow, medium and fast lanes so splitting one tends to be best. The lifeguards are really friendly and good though could keep the kids out of the lanes a bit more I guess. Open October to April and definitely my favourite BOP pool.â

âThe pool is very tired but that is no excuse for it being so dirty. The changing rooms are a disgrace. There are several staff members on at any one time and the pool is not always busy so I see no reason it cant be kept clean. A very poor image for Tauranga. Wake up Tauranga city council.â
