1 / 3Paradise Valley Springs
π Paradise Valley, Bay of Plenty
Paradise Valley Springs near Rotorua is a wildlife sanctuary with native trout streams, tree walks, and animals you can hand-feed. Ducks follow visitors throughout the grounds, deer and trout take food from your hand, and lions add a centrepiece.
Iβve been to quite a few attractions like this and itβs the best one so far. The park is big and full of different kinds of animals. Itβs also very clean and well planned out. Not gonna lie, I thought it was quite expensive. However, I found it worth it as I was exploring the place. You can tell the animals are all well taken care of. Itβs a nice day activity for all different ages. Itβs cool we get to feed the animals for $2! It was cool getting the chance to pet the lion cubs! Definitely worth queuing for. My favourite one is the donkey, heβs definitely a photogenic one.
π Family Action Verdict
One of the most hands-on animal experiences near Rotorua β the trout, deer, and endlessly sociable ducks make for a genuinely interactive walk rather than zoo-style viewing.

βAmazing for family/friends or Couples!, Such lovely views and so many ducks (MANY ducks), the price is so worth it, and all animals are very friendly and very hungry (would recommend buying 2 of each food bags for the animals) , Educational talks too w staff members when they feed the loins or birds!, Lady at reception was perfect and so welcoming. Will deff come back when weβre in Rotorua again!! π€β

βVery beautiful sanctuary, clean, well looked after animals, with some that you can hand feed, peaceful tree walks and streams with native trout. Would recommend to head there early on a weekday, my partner and I arrived at 9am ish and hardly anyone was there so we could take our time and take all the beauty in, highly recommend heading to Paradise Valley while visiting Rotorua πβ

βAbsolutely beautiful setting. Very enjoyable walk around the grounds feeding wild ducks, deer and trout. Looking at old workers and hunters huts and what they used as 'tools of the trade'. Gift shop well stocked and well priced. N.B The young blonde girl behind the counter needs to learn how to smile!β
