“Formally complaining about my experience at Reading cinema last night. During the most critical and intense part of the movie, the house lights were turned on and remained on for approximately 10 minutes. The scene being shown was very dark, and the lights made it extremely difficult to see what was happening on screen. This completely ruined the moment and the overall atmosphere that had been building for over an hour. No staff member entered the cinema to check on the issue, and no announcement or explanation was given. As this was the most important part of the movie, no one wanted to leave their seat to get help. Eventually, a local legend had to leave the cinema to notify staff. This should not have been the responsibility of customers. To make matters worse, when the movie ended, the lights did not come on at all. The entire audience was required to exit the cinema in near darkness, which posed an obvious safety risk—particularly for older patrons and ankle rolling territory. It is concerning that a basic safety measure was missed after the earlier lighting issue. At the end of the movie, there was still no apology or acknowledgement from staff regarding the disruption. Given that tickets cost approximately $45 (for 2 Adults), this level of service is unacceptable. Do Better.. I want a refund.”
