Interesting story and presented in an easy to follow manner without being too complicated. This New Zealand man was truly compassionate and did some good work in China. Worth a visit to learn some history and the building is one of those repaired after the Christchurch earthquakes.

Overview

The Rewi Alley Museum is a small free museum at 159 Oxford Terrace in central Christchurch. It tells the story of Rewi Alley — the New Zealander who spent 60 years in China during the 20th century, founding industrial co-operatives during the war against Japan and pioneering technical training schools (most famously at Shandan in the Gobi Desert).
