1 / 3Sapphire Springs Holiday Park & Mineral Pools
📍 Tahawai, Bay of Plenty
Holiday park combining warm thermal pools, private hot tubs, and natural river swimming within 32 hectares of native forest. Camping, cabins, and motel units available, plus mini golf, playground, and bush walks.
We stayed at Sapphire Campground this past weekend and it is honestly one of the best campgrounds we’ve ever been to. It was absolutely fantastic for our almost three-year-old — he loved every second of it! For the first time in a while, we were actually able to relax. The playground felt safe and secure, and cars driving through the campground were very considerate with their speed, which made a huge difference for us as parents. The pools were an absolute blast, and the scenery surrounding the campground is just beautiful. The kitchen facilities were immaculate — and not just straight after the cleaners had been through. The same goes for the bathrooms — spotless, fresh, and no unpleasant smells at all. The campground is clearly strict with its rules, and it really shows in how clean, tidy, and well-run everything is. We loved the sense of order and care throughout the whole place. We will definitely be back soon. What an absolute gem of a place! 🌿✨
🏆 Family Action Verdict
Families with young children praise the secure, well-run atmosphere — cars move slowly, kitchen facilities are immaculate, and the pools are "an absolute blast." One parent with a nearly three-year-old said it was the first time she could genuinely relax. Hot pools and cold river swimming holes keep different ages happy.

“Such a pretty place dotted with trees and their shade. Lovely stream and swimming hole. Didn't make it up to the pools, it was too warm already for me. Very friendly staff. Looks like a good team. I ended up here for just over a week and will keep in my diary of nice places to stop.”
