Spargo Reserve
π Massey, Auckland
Updated playground in Massey surrounded by trees, featuring a new climbing frame, slides, and three swing options. No toilets, bins, or drinking water on-site. Open 24 hours with walking path around the reserve.
This is a great playground. Our Smallie loves everything about it, especially the big slide & all 3 swing choices. Forgot to take photo today!
π Family Action Verdict
Best for Massey families with children who love slides and swings and want an uncrowded, tree-lined play space. The updated equipment is the clear draw. Bring water, snacks, and a rubbish bag for every visit β the lack of amenities is absolute. Check the perimeter edges for wire hazards before letting children roam freely.

βSpargo reserve is surrounded by trees. The older play park has now been updated with a new climbing frame and slides. Plenty of space to kick a ball around but no amenities. Not a common park in use so good if you want uninterrupted play.β

βA small reserve which has a walking path way for a walk around the reserve and it also has playground for kids. A small open area for outdoor games and specially for dog lovers as enough space for them to play around. It is open 24 by 7.β

βIt's OK... But council should place a rubbish bin, a drinking water fountain and maybe a toilet as well. Also about a year ago I reported to the council some very sharp wires around the edge which I think can be dangerous for the kids. Nothing happened since...β

Overview
Spargo Reserve features a recently updated playground with a new climbing frame, slides, and three swing variations set among trees. A walking path circles the reserve alongside open grass for ball games and dog exercise. The reserve is open around the clock. No toilets, rubbish bins, or drinking fountains are provided β families need to bring supplies and take rubbish out with them. Sharp wire hazards around the edge were reported to council several years ago with no confirmed resolution.
