âClean, tidy and not too busy at 3.30pm on a Thursday. $8.50 for a single adult admission, which seems steep to me but cost of living I guess. I swam some laps and used the spa after, both were perfectly fine.â

The kind of local aquatic centre families drive over from Hamilton for: pools, spas, a hydroslide the kids will queue for again and again, plus basketball courts and space to gather for birthdays. The front desk staff get a lot of love for being friendly and helpful, and it rarely feels packed. Worth keeping your own eyes on the little ones though, as a few parents flagged lifeguards seeming distracted, and the changing rooms aren't always spotless.
