Overview
The Tramway Historical Society operates a living collection of South Island trams and trolley buses at Ferrymead Heritage Park. Visitors board and ride the Kitson steam tram, vintage electric cars and horse trams - fully operational vehicles, not static displays. Volunteers who restore and maintain the fleet lead tours and answer questions across the adjacent workshops. Group visits can be arranged in advance with a guided experience and lunch. Pram access available.
