Tutarawānanga - Yatton Park

“Te Puke Baby went on a little park adventure to Yatton Park today… and ohhh… this one made his tiny heart feel very big 🌳💚 There were tall trees everywhere, like gentle giants watching over him, and soft grass perfect for little wobbly steps. Te Puke Baby explored very important things… like sticks, leaves, and a rock that looked like a potato (he kept it for a while 🥔). The playground was SO much fun. Te Puke Baby climbed (a little bit), and made some very serious new friends-mostly other tiny humans who also didn’t share snacks. There were ducks too 🦆 Te Puke Baby said hello. The ducks said… nothing. But it still felt special. Everything felt calm and happy, like the kind of place where time slows down just enough for little adventures to feel really big. Te Puke Baby left with muddy shoes, a full heart, and a very important stick. He will definitely be back 🌿✨”

“Tutarawānanga - Yatton Park is a pleasant green space with a deeper history than expected. It was originally a Māori pā site before the land was acquired by European settlers. John Chadwick named it "Yatton" after his English hometown and planted many of the majestic exotic trees you see today. Because they were planted closely at the same time, they raced each other for sunlight, resulting in some of the tallest specimen trees in the country. It has a decent playground, and is a popular place for people to bring their dogs.”
