What an awesome owner, super friendly, great with the children and clearly popular as we had to book ahead and even when we went overtime he didnt mind. So long as the kids are happy. And he had to scoot up the wall to encourage my girl down once making it fun for her that she didnt ask for help again. It actually could be bigger but even so there are still a lot of climbing wall options at different levels with challenges on the wall next to it. We visited 2 days in a row. 😁

🏆 Family Action Verdict

Best for families with kids — Clip 'n' Climb is specifically designed to be approachable for first-timers, including young kids. Reviewers consistently name the owner as friendly and patient with children, and a popular Ohakune all-weather option (handy for ski-season rest days). Suits all skill levels.

Awesome place for young and old, our kids had a great time! Lots of different levels to climb so if you are a complete beginner you'll still have a great time. In fact, you'll be scaling the more difficult walls by the end of your time. Worth a trip from wherever you are, you'll leave the place buzzing. Jerome who runs the place was awesome, super helpful and made the experience really fun. Recommend checking this place out right now, it's awesome.

Absolutely brilliant place to go rock climbing that’s for all ages. I went with a group of friends and the owner greeted me and taught me skills for each of the walls with a happy expression and the willingness to assist you wherever. Would recommend a go at Vertigo available all year round.

We had a lot of fun rock climbing here during our rainy visit to Ohakune. The staff were incredibly friendly and there were a fun and diverse range of colourful walls that my small children, one of whom was climbing for the first time, got plenty of enjoyment climbing :)
