1 / 3Walnut Tree Park
📍 Christchurch Central City, Canterbury
Walnut Tree Park is a compact playground in Christchurch's central city featuring swings, climbing frames, and a wobbly balance beam. Pram accessible and dog friendly. A few minutes' walk from Little Poms café and the nearby river walk loop.
This is my local park. We have a coffee at little poms, walk to the ducks, walk around the loop, stop by this wee park, and then head home. Park could be better maintained but it is clean and that's the important part.
🏆 Family Action Verdict
Local reviewers describe folding this park into a regular loop — coffee at Little Poms, a walk to see the ducks, the river circuit, then a stop here before heading home. The central location makes it a practical pitstop for families exploring the city on foot.

“Tiny little park with a kids playground. Great place to walk the dogs. Maintenance can be improved. The big tree must be walnut tree. Will come back when walnuts are falling.”
