Vibes,Boats & Zero Free Parking Nice, chill walk by the beach and wharf with yachts and boats just flexing quietly.. First things first don’t come hunting for free parking.. It’s mostly paid parking and the few cheap spots (P120) are like unicorns... If you find one,buy a lotto ticket after... Good news though plenty of toilets and if walking feels like too much effort, you can rent a bike from a few spots around the waterfront... One of the best parts?.. You can just sit near the library, read a book, people watch or master the art of doing absolutely nothing while staring at the water... Plenty of seats, plenty of chill... Heads up this place can get busy... Like β€œeveryone had the same idea” busy... If crowds aren’t your thing, just snap a quick pic, soak the vibe for 5 minutes and bounce... Overall? Easy walk, nice views, relaxed energy classic Wellington vibes... "Logan was here filling the I in the Wellington"

β€œA nice walkway next to the wharf that provides nice views of the harbor, and leads to a nice happening area with various restaurants, bars, and high end shops. The walk is flat and easy so can be managed by anyone with basic fitness, however it’s windy in general and in a windy day it gets slightly challenging to walk. The walk from the parking lot at this location to the shops is 1.6 KM / 1 mile. Walking from the parking lot to the other end will take at least 30 minutes with plenty of stops around monuments on the way.”

β€œBeautiful waterfront with lots of surprises and places to explore. I watched someone cannonball into a hole in the waterfront, and shortly thereafter a couple walked the plank together. Lucked out with the weather and caught a killer sunset.”

β€œAwesome place for walking. Lots of cyclists too. Electric bikes for hire. Plenty of public toilets. Paid parking not far away.”

Overview

Wellington Waterfront Walk follows the harbour edge past moored yachts and working vessels to the wharf precinct and its restaurants, shops, and bars. The path is completely flat and pram accessible. Electric bikes are available for hire along the route. Historical plaques and monuments provide stopping points. On clear evenings the sunset over the water is exceptional. Paid parking is available nearby; free parking is scarce β€” plan accordingly.
