1 / 3Ambury Park Centre
📍 Māngere Bridge, Auckland
Ambury Park Centre runs specialist therapeutic horse riding programmes on the Māngere Estuary. The adjoining regional farm park has free entry, flat pram-friendly paths, cycling trails, farm animals, and a nationally significant birdwatching site.
Been coming here for over 15 years. My kids spent a few school trips here too. My older ones still like it here, my surprise baby is 6 and he loves the animals and the family days they have here. Nice and tranquil. Free to see the animals. Just remember to respect the environment, take your rubbish with you and remind your kids to be nice to the animals.
🏆 Family Action Verdict
Best for families with children in therapeutic riding programmes — the structured progression and staff investment produce real confidence gains over time. The free farm park suits any family wanting calm outdoor time with animals and open space, with no commitment to the riding side required.

Overview
Ambury Park Centre is a therapeutic riding facility and regional farm park on the Māngere Estuary. Riding programmes are structured and progressive — children advance through stages over months and years under trained, caring staff. The surrounding farm park is free to enter, with flat grassy paths accessible to prams and toddlers, farm animals roaming freely, cycling trails, and a birdwatching site of national significance. Families have been returning for fifteen-plus years.
