We had a fantastic family day out at Auckland Off Road Adventure Park. I drove my Ford Everest on all-terrain tyres and we spent about six hours exploring the park. There’s a great mix of sand, clay, and hills, which makes it a fun and varied place to drive. One of the highlights was stopping for lunch in the middle of nowhere. It really felt like a proper off-road adventure. I went in not really knowing what to expect, but was pleasantly surprised. You can get around most of the park without needing all the hardcore 4x4 gear, which makes it a great place to get started in off-roading while still being enjoyable for more experienced drivers. Highly recommend it for anyone looking for a great family day out and an introduction to 4x4 driving.

β€œFamily surprised me on my 43rd to have a go with my Delica D5 and it was epic. Got lost, got stuck, Flew for a bit and everything in between happened, surprisingly the family van survived. Epic staff very informative and helpful, awesome people.”

Overview

Set in Woodhill Forest north of Auckland, the park covers sand dunes, forested clay trails, water crossings and technical hill climbs. Tracks span beginner-friendly flats through to serious mud and hill terrain, so a standard 4WD on all-terrain tyres handles most of the park. Bring a radio to communicate with on-site staff who assist with recoveries. Staff from local off-road clubs are on hand and well-regarded by visitors. Free parking on site.
