An awesome children playground which is split into different areas, some more suited to younger or older kids. There's also an epic flying fox where bigger kids have fun flying along, bringing the rope back to waiting kids to cheer them on too. Tunnels and walls to climb and explore. A bridge to cross. A roar-some t-rex statue and a lot of things that kids will find as they explore the space. It's outside and has some shade but sun protection is always a good idea! Seats and benches around for a snack break, drink area. There are some drinking fountains too. Friends have young kids aged from toddlers right up to 9 year olds and they all love coming here to play, explore and learn. Also a good walking space and it's easy to while away the hours here. Parking is free in a parking lot off the road as well as free on street parking. The main road nearby is quite busy as it links through to Kennedy Good Bridge and the State Highway across the river.

β€œThe playground at Avalon Park is fantastic for kids of all ages! There’s so much to do and it’s well-maintained. It’s part of a larger park that also includes a great skate park, so there’s something for everyone. It can get busy on weekends and holidays, but we always have a great time here.”

β€œAfter being here, I believe I won't need to go to Junglerama anymore as my kid had as fun as there. One con is that the flying fox is a bummer: it's barely tilted, so it’s really slow. Also, we have just been in Rolleston and, there, they have a far superior playground... couldn't they have done, here, something cool like they did in Rolleston?”
