Birkenhead Skateboard Park
π Birkenhead, Auckland
Birkenhead Skateboard Park has a rebuilt concrete design with a back bowl, raised quarter pipe, and obstacles for intermediate to advanced skaters. Adjacent to Birkenhead Pool. Free parking, birthday party bookings, and pram access.
Concrete: Smooth Obstacles: Some beginner stuff. But it's mostly for an intermediate plus level of skillsets. It's got good park flow. Clean lines with plenty of space, not being too far apart or too crowded between obstacles. This park felt like a playground to me. It didn't look like much at first. But once I started playing with different lines, I realized it was set up in a way you can do a lot as you can go from one side to the other, back to back and keep your momentum. Maintenance: - Very clean - No Graffiti - No tripping hazards - Well maintained Parking: Plenty of free parking.
π Family Action Verdict
Skaters praise the smooth concrete, the bowl's clean lines, and the overall park flow. The location next to the pools means a full day out is straightforward β skate first, then swim.

βGreat skate park right next to free pools and leisure centre. New rebuild with new bowl at the back up on a raise that has a small quarter pipe all the way along the back fence of the raise, the raise then rolls into the rest of the park with more advanced boxes, gaps and rails to the left and more beginners set up on the right. Also a great pump track further out back behind the pool and obstacle course just follow the driveway at front entrance to the park and leisure centre to the end of the driveway by the war memorial reserve.β

βSuch a fun park but so busy at 2:00pm today on a Sunday. Of course on a Sunday it is busy as itβs a weekend and lovely sunny day but little kids donβt understand taking turns. So many snakes and little kids on push bikes or scooters they get in your way and donβt care. Overall and awesome park and so many different obstaclesβ

βThe best park in Auckland that I've ridden yet. Perfect balance between beginner to advanced, with low->high boxes and mini->medium->large ramps and bowls. Tons of space and great flow between it all. Water fountain here and plenty of parking. Bikes and all come tooβ
