1 / 2Manukau Skate Park
đ Manukau City Centre, Auckland
Free outdoor park in Hayman Park with steep boxes, spine transfer, vert wall, pocket bowl, and two pump tracks. Rough concrete surfaces suit intermediate to advanced skaters aged 8+. A smaller children's area sits separately.
A decently sized skate park in Hayman Park. There seems to be a range of slopes for different abilities. there is also a moto cross track there too.
đ Family Action Verdict
Best for intermediate and advanced skaters aged 10+ who can read steep transitions. The pocket bowl works for kids practising drop-ins for the first time. Beginners on scooters or bikes will find most features too large. Skaters of all ages should check shaded areas for debris before riding.

âLots of high ramps but no big jumps. Going high to flat hurst wrists. Small bowl bit. Is another smaller child area and a pump track separate.â

âIt's ok but the ramps are definitely not very smooth to go onâ

âConcrete: A little rough. But not lose all your speed rough. Obstacles: Large and steep boxes, an uneven spine transfer, a high rail, 2 pump tracks and a surrounding vert wall. The pocket size bowl in the middle is great for learning to drop in and serves like a mini ramp. The spine is small enough to learn on, but is uneven and doesn't have the same smooth concave shape on each side. The pump tracks used some sort of rough asphalt and is terrible to ride a skateboard on, unless you are using cruiser wheels. Almost all the ramps are large, so they are not beginner friendly. Maintenance: - No graffiti - A little bit of trash. - Leaves, rocks, and sticks can be found plenty around the shaded areas. Parking: Tight paid parallel parking spaces - free on weekends.â

Overview
Manukau Skate Park sits inside Hayman Park and packs in large steep boxes, an uneven spine transfer, a high rail, a surrounding vert wall, and two asphalt pump tracks. The pocket-size bowl in the centre is the best entry point for learning to drop in. A separate smaller area caters to younger riders. Concrete is functional and rough in places â cruiser wheels handle the pump track surface better than hard wheels. Entry is free.
