“This lighthouse marks the entrance to Wellington's inner harbour and ships entering pass by at a very close distance. There is a fairly large parking area with benches right by the lighthouse. The spot is particularly frequented by anglers to point where "bait blocks" have been installed to discourage anglers from cutting up their bat on the benches. There are really good views of Soames Island and further on to Petone and the Hutt Valley as well as the wide sweep of Wellington Bay.”
