Washington Way Skate Park
đ Sydenham, Canterbury
Washington Way Skate Park has the southern hemisphere's largest concrete bowl, plus an expansive street section with ledges, rails, and transitions at all skill levels. Scooters, BMX riders, and skaters share the space.
A great skatepark. It has something for all skill levels and theres lots of space so even the kids on micro scooters can roll safely. Its a bit ropey here and there, some signs of age on the old parts but nothing that hampers your skate. I like the fact the street section is really big and everything flows, you can have a good run from top to bottom getting multiple tricks on different obstacles. Been there everyday so far on me visit to Chch. Also the bowl is mega, not something I touch but impressive seeing the locals air out of it. Check it out!
đ Family Action Verdict
Reviewers note the street section covers all skill levels, with enough flat and low-impact features for kids on micro scooters to roll safely alongside experienced skaters. The scale of the bowl draws spectators as much as participants â watching riders drop in is a spectacle in itself.

âParking is a challenge. There is hardly any parking for vehicles. This place can be quite busy during summer holidays. Needs shelter for onlookers or care givers but fanatic place for skaters. Skate park is near to McDonald's and you can have a feed there too ....â

âGreat share park with cool features but please teach your kids how to give way to other skaters instead of of snakingâ
