A beautiful venue worth visiting for the architecture alone â the central location and direct bus access make it one of Wellington's most straightforward family theatre outings.

âBus stop 5002 is situated right in front of the St James Theatre and this central location in Courtenay Place is very convenient for theatre-goers, diners and pub patrons in that region. The SJT doors are right beside the one bus-seat and SJT itself provides good roof shelter from the rain but not from the winds (although it's very sheltered right now because of the renovation scaffoldings). You'll also find the Mermaid Bar right next door. Stop 5002 is almost directly opposite stop 5514 (next to Mac Donald's) and a zebra crossing is conveniently located between the two stops. It's a very busy stretch during peak-traffic times so watch your step especially when the many buses pull in and out of these stops.â
