“This is THE cinema experience you should not miss. Booked a movie in the Reynolds room and it did not disappoint. The quality of the screen is great, so is the sound. They show both new movies and well as older/cult classics. Please make sure to go check them out and support them. This is one local business that definitely deserves to not die out.”

Overview
Hokitika's Regent opened in January 1936, an Art Deco replacement for the town's Victorian theatre, and it is now a Category II historic building owned and run by a community society with volunteers. The main auditorium screens current films and doubles as the town hall and concert venue; the intimate Reynolds Room screens films to a handful of sofas and armchairs, which is the room families rave about. A cafe alongside serves coffee, scones and baking, and there is parking outside.
