1 / 2Kiwi Park Queenstown
đ Queenstown, Otago
Kiwi Park Queenstown houses kiwi in nocturnal enclosures alongside native birds and reptiles. A self-guided audio tour and daily conservation shows are included. Free parking, outdoor paths, and pram access.
Top notch experience in Queenstown. Super knowledgeable staff, an excellent array of native and endemic birds and wildlife, and a great way to spend a morning in QN. It was super chill at the onset of opening and we would suggest visiting earlier in the day if possible to get the place mostly to yourself. The inside kiwi houses are a wonderful way to see the elusive bird up close and personal and is a vital part of a national conservation effort to restore the populations.
đ Family Action Verdict
Visiting early means the kiwi houses are quieter â reviewers note having the enclosures largely to themselves at opening. The audio tour is praised as easy for children to follow. Staff are highlighted as passionate and knowledgeable, and the conservation show is noted as entertaining.

âI had a fantastic time as a solo tourist visiting the park. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable, and the self-guided audio tour was easy to access and to follow. I learnt so much about New Zealand wildlife, and it was a really special experience to get so close up to the animals, especially in the conservation show and the kiwi encounter. I would absolutely recommend it as a great day out!â

âIf you love to see KIWI bird, you have to visit here! Kiwi encounter was really awesome. You can see them pretty closely! It's not just a park that displays birds. It's a wonderful place to preserve and protect kiwis and NZ native animals. You can find out more about what the people who work here do on their official website. In that sense, the price is also very reasonable.â
