Omana regional park has beautiful views over the Hauraki Gulf. Ideal for picnic, there are barbecues, picnic tables and toilets. You can also stay overnight in the camping grounds. There are walks that takes you through the farm where you will find sheep and in spring you can even feed the lambs. From there it is a very short walk to Omana beach with a walkway all the way past Maraetai. Omana beach also has a boat ramp should you wish to do some fishing or just explore the Gulf.

🏆 Family Action Verdict

A sprawling coastal park where kids can run through paddocks, spot sheep, and play on the beach while parents relax at a BBQ table with Gulf views. Walking tracks are easy enough for toddlers in prams.

“Beautiful location, many picnic tables and shady trees. Toilets are nearby and accessible. Some people sometimes play loud music so please be considerate and kind. Bbq stand are quite dirty so bring some cleaning stuff with you if you want to use the gas bbq available in the park.”

“What a stunning, scenic walk or cycle from Maraetai through to Beachlands or vice versa. Lots of greenery, paddocks and bush. The tracks, bridges and paths are well maintained. Three toilet sites and plenty of picnic tables and barbecues. Absolutey delightful to walk.”
