PLAY Arcade Queensgate
📍 Hutt Central, Wellington
Clean, spacious arcade with decent game variety including bowling machines. Ongoing maintenance issues mean several games are often out of order.
🏆 Family Action Verdict
Best for families with kids who enjoy arcade games and aren't too picky about specific machines working. The venue offers a clean, spacious environment with decent variety, but ongoing maintenance issues mean you should expect some disappointment with broken games and consider it more of a casual visit than a special outing.

“Lot of arcade games, there's even a karaoke booth, pretty neat place.”

“The Taiko no Tatsujin cab sorely needs some love and care. It is genuinely miserable trying to play anything of a high difficulty level due to the poor condition of the machine, with there being a random chance at any given moment of your inputs simply not being registered. Love the vibe of the arcade and the deals, and the staff are great too, just wish that Taiko could get some replacement parts to make it actually playable.”

“This is an arcade located on the lower level of the IMAX theater. It is spacious and clean, which is great. Accumulating points here is easy, and you can get some decent prizes. However, there aren't many great items available. I wish there were more Pokémon-related products. Additionally, there are some machines that are out of order. Nonetheless, among the arcades in Wellington, this seems to be the best one. It would be fantastic if they could provide regular upgrades and maintenance.”
