1 / 3Rotorua Aquatic Centre
đ Rotorua, Bay of Plenty
Best for a straightforward family swim in town. Rotorua's council aquatic centre has an indoor 25 metre pool, a warm indoor learner pool for toddlers and beginners, a 50 metre outdoor pool, a cafe and family changing rooms.
Great facilities if a bit old, very warm activities for all age groups. Would be great if they had a little cafe or something but bbq facilities to byo food and have a picnic
đ Family Action Verdict
A solid, no-frills option for a swim with kids, especially toddlers and learners who get a properly warm pool of their own. Do not expect a leisure centre: there are no slides or spas, and the lap pools are kept at training temperature, so pack a towel poncho for shivery kids. Handy that it is next to Kuirau Park's playground and free foot baths.

âLove the new look of the surroundings. Entrance is much better. Extra family changing rooms are excellent. Like the cafe, a good flat white after a Aqua jog.â

âLots of pools and large changing room. If you just need a shower, you can just use the showers at 3.50$ and pool is 6.50$. Has a little snack shop here too. Refillable water tap by the poolside .â

âWas nice for my 9yr old granddaughter her first trip to NZ from Australiaâ

Overview
Rotorua Aquatic Centre sits on the edge of Kuirau Park on Tarewa Road and is the city's everyday public pool. Indoors there is a 25 metre lap pool and a learner pool kept much warmer for toddlers and beginners, with a 50 metre outdoor pool for summer lengths. A recent refit brought a better entrance, extra family changing rooms and a cafe. The old spa pools that many locals remember are gone, and reviews still mention missing them and finding the main pools cooler than expected.
